Shedricks, Blixen & Giraffe Center

Pick up from your hotel at 10am. Drive towards the Nairobi National Park to Sheldrick Baby Elephant Orphanage which is open 1 hr daily. You can visit between 11am and 12 noon every day, and see the elephants being fed and playing. In addition, there is a keeper who will give a talk about the elephants, where they came from, how they are getting on, and how some of the previous orphans are progressing. You can get really close to the elephants. The orphanage also takes in rhinos and so if you are lucky you will get the chance to see a young rhino. Continue to the Karen Blixen Museum, for many years was her home. Later proceed to the Giraffe Centre to see and hand feed the famous endangered species of Rothschild Giraffe and her family. Return to the hotel at approximately 3pm.

Excursion Itinerary

10:00am: Pick up from your Hotel for the Sheldrick elephant orphanage trip
10:45am: Arrive at the Daphne Sheldrick orphanage shelter
11:00am: Start of the Public viewing of the baby elephants at the Nairobi Elephant orphanage
12:00pm: End of the public viewing and lecture on baby elephants.
12:15pm: Depart the Daphne Sheldrick elephant orphanage for the Karen Blixen Museum
12: 30pm: Arrive at the Karen Blixen Museum and start of your Karen Blixen Museum visit
01: 30pm: End of your Karen Blixen Museum visits and depart for lunch break at the famous Carnivore Restaurant
02: 30pm: Depart Carnivore Restaurant for the Giraffe Centre
03:00pm: Arrive at the Giraffe Centre and start feeding the friendly Rothchilds Giraffe. They accept a kiss as they pick their food from your palms!
04:00pm: End of feeding the friendly Rothchilds Giraffe and depart for your hotel.
