Itinerary in detail

Day 1: Arrive Nairobi, Transfer House of Waine

Upon arrival you will be picked up by your safari guide and transferred to House of Waine. House Of Waine is an 11 bedroom luxury boutique hotel on 2.5 acres that blends the elegance of gracious living with the spirit of modern Africa in an exclusive and serene setting. Our aim is to provide our guests with an experience that exceeds all their expectations of city hotels and is punctuated by personalised, friendly and excellent service and cuisine in beautiful surroundings. A smallish 11 bed-roomed hotel, the House of Waine is known for its attention to detail, and for the design of its rooms, all of which are slightly different. Shared areas include a lounge, a dining room, terraces, a heated pool (complete with pavilion and outdoor bar) and a main bar.

Days 2 - 3: Amboseli National Park

After an early breakfast, you will be driven to Wilson Airport, where you will board a flight to Amboseli National Park. Amboseli National Park is one of the best known wildlife destinations in Kenya, primarily for excellent sightings of elephant in the big marshy area and the magnificent view of Mount Kilimanjaro (Observation Hill offers the best vistas). Chase the perfect sight of a massive gathering of big-tusked elephants set against the backdrop of Mt Kilimanjaro. Adventures include twice-daily game drives in open safari vehicles, walks in the conservancy (led by expert Maasai guides), cultural tours and decadent bush breakfasts. Spend your day on exciting game drives, looking for lions and cheetahs as they hide from the heat or amble out to hunt. See the warm, golden sun set over the grasslands and mighty mountain from atop prehistoric Observation Hill.

Days 4 & 5: Meru National Park

After breakfast you will be driven to the airstrip for your flight to Meru National Park. Made famous by conservationist Joy Adamson and the film based on her book “Born Free”, Meru National Park features 13 rivers and supports a wide range of diverse habitats. A paradise for bird watchers, there are several rare bird species found here. In the unspoilt and rugged landscape of Meru, enjoy game drives, safari walks or a cultural visit to the local community. Or why not try your hand at fishing in one of the many rivers. Stay: 2 Nights at Elsa Kopje

Meru National park offers the widest variety of landscapes and habitats together with different varieties of Flora and Fauna. Wildlife includes Grevy’s Zebra, Elephants, Eland, Bush Pig, Waterbuck, Cheetah, Leopard, Reticulated Giraffe, Hippopotamus, Bohor Reedbuck, Hartebeest, Python, Puff Udder, Cobra, Buffalo and more than 300 recorded species.

Days 6 - 8: Samburu National Reserve

After breakfast you will be driven to the airstrip where your flight will be awaiting to take you to Samburu, Sasaab Luxury Tented Camp. Enjoy twice daily game drives where you might see huge majestic elephant, lion, leopard and cheetah and all of the ‘special five’ which include the Beisa oryx, reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, Gerenuk antelope and Somali ostrich. In the hot and arid lowlands of the Northern districts of Kenya, featuring doum palms and over 450 species of birds, there are interesting experiences to keep you fascinated over the next day or two.

Visit a Samburu community and learn about their way of life and culture. Take a camel safari, or even spend the night under the stars in a fly camp. Or enjoy your camp, overlooking the Ewaso Nyiro River, where the world melts away. Stay: 2 Nights at Sasaab Luxury Tented Camp

Days 9 - 11: Maasai Mara

After a wholesome breakfast, you will be driven to the airstrip for your scheduled flight to the iconic Masai Mara National Reserve. Over the next few days take time to explore this wilderness area on game drives, walks or perhaps even spoil yourselves on a hot air balloon safari. Be utterly enchanted by this reserve, world-famous and for good reason. Stay: 2 Nights at &Beyond Bateleur Camp.

The Maasai Mara experience is an exhilarating one! During the day, you go on a game drive through Masai Mara. The game reserve is best known for its wildebeest and zebra migration, which tends to pass through the area July to October, but many areas offer excellent game viewing year round. Breakfast and lunch at camp. We offer you the option to go on a balloon safari (for a surcharge) and to enjoy the bird’s eye view of Kenya.

Day 12: Depart, Fly Nairobi

Enjoy your last early morning swim in the sea and breakfast before we wave a fond farewell as you make your way back to the airstrip. From here, you will board your scheduled light aircraft flight to Wilson Airport, where you will be picked up by our appointed safari guide who will transfer you to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward flight.
